After three years of training at the École Emile Cohl in Lyon in drawing and animation, Sylvain Vincendeau went to work at Folimage Studio on the series The happiness of life I and II. Between 1993 and 1995 he directed his first short film, Winged words, the film was nominated for the Golden cartoon in 1997. His third short film The head in the stars was awarded the 1998 Annecy International Animation Festival.
