Taichung International Animation Festival is the first and the biggest festival ever to be held by a local government. Taiwanese animators finally have a platform where they can show off their creative juices!
2015 TIAF includes Taiwan animation and world panorama. Taiwan animation section includes competition and selected works. Themes ranging from literary adaptation, folk art, historical metaphors, animated music videos, and R-rated works with daring visuals. These 58 works makes fully use of the power of image to tell stories, and will be Taiwan’s biggest collection of animation works in recent years. The World Panorama section includes animations from 24 different countries around the world, some receiving awards from festival of all sorts. Their themes range from Korean literary adaptation to documentary about a comic artist and using all kinds of animation techniques you can imagine.
Besides animation screenings, there will be several animation-related talks and forums. Including peeping behind-the-scenes of how to make an animation; and Hong Kong director, Toe Yuan, will also talk about the rise of animation in Hong Kong these recent years. All the best animations will be gathering in Taichung this October, so come and join the celebration with us!
