Animator, Cinematographer/DP, Director, Editor, Writer Toby Stretch grew up in rural northern Appalachia where he ran about the woods as a kid with his wild brothers. His films utilize mostly self taught stop motion animation, along with some new signature animation techniques that he has invented. Having lived in Philadelphia since1999 he continues to capture both rural and urban landscapes for his surreal animated beings to live in. The characters in these worlds are often life-sized armatured puppets that function as outdoor animated sculptures that tell a story
