Synopsis

An epic film-poem about the final minutes in the life of Winnipeg's doomed Second World War hero, Andrew Mynarski (1916 -1944). Composed of 21,000 hand-painted 35mm frames.

Director

Matthew RANKIN
MATTEW RANKIN studied Quebec history at McGill University and University Laval before becoming a maker of art films. An alumni of the Sundance Film Festival, Mattew was a 2013 artist-in-residence at the MacDowell Colony in new Hampshire, and is the first Winnipegger to be nominated for Quebec’s coveted Jutra Award. He then won the National Media Arts Prize in 2014.he works in French, English and Esperanto.
