Director

Gabriel HAREL

Gabriel Harel has grown up between the lower Alps, Provence and Marseille. At the Epinal Art School he developed his passion for drawing, comic strips, and cinema. Then, he worked on several film shootings while he was directing small movies which mixed live action and drawings. Quickly after, he entered Le Poudrière, an animation school. Yùl and the Snake is his first animated film. The movie is inspired by his youth, his friends back then, and his attachment to them. It is also inspired by the harsh nightmares he had later. The animation work is based on live action material: he aims to make cinema with drawings.
