Freeze Frame

Freeze frame serves as a pun in the film, referring to the animation techniques, as well as the tasks conducted by workers who repeatedly transmitted ice cubes, reanimating the animals captured inside the cubes. It resembles the elaborate process of duplicating the same image over and over again to create the illusion of stillness. The process is also the most monotonous and inorganic task.

Erodium Thunk

The creator looks for interactions between things that initially didn’t have any, among the abundant collage, deconstructed, and reconstructed television commercials. The film was made for a group show titled From A to Z, that reflects on Micheal Snow’s 1956 animated film of the same name, and his multiplicity of approaches that fluidly transition between media and form.

Fleeting Autumn

This piece was shot during a two-month art residency in Japan. Developed from the content and syllable structure of Haiku poems, combined with animation technique, this stop-motion poetry oscillates between animation, documentary, and experiment. It also transforms the beautiful Japanese landscape, objects, and architectures into a unique dynamic motion picture.

The film title refers to the tradition of numbering subsequent graphic prints, and also the fact that the movie sequence was drawn on "25 frames per second.” We can tell from the soundscape that the abstract objects are simplified from the humans’ movements on a campus. The film experiments on the innovation of what the authors understand as “drawings in motion.”
