The Chorus of Millennium

This film tells the story of a group of primary students who lived in an old factory in Northeast China in 1999. They had originally prepared a chorus for the graduation ceremony, but the primary school was about to be demolished and the graduation ceremony was canceled. When the children learned that their classmates were about to move away, they were not reconciled. So, they sneaked into the small school hall and opened the door with the wish to sing the chorus as promised the next day. What they could not think of was that the school had already been demolished the next day. Students left with disappointment. Li Kuaile returned home and heard that his parents were still arguing. He was numbly hiding in the corridor when the wind caused by the demolition blasting blew away the paper plane folded by the music book. Li Kuaile chased out, came to the ruins, stood on the broken stage, and started to sing the prepared chorus. The students, even though in different places, sang the last song together like they have consonance.
