Short Films Competition
MA Kuang-Pei currently works in art education, animation and illustration.
A graduate from the Graduate Institute of Animation and Film Art at the Tainan National University of the Arts, Ma is known for his poetic surreal style in his illustration and animation as well his excellent skills in 2D hand-drawn pictures.His works include The Landscape Tour (2008), The Soliloquist (2009) and The Photos (2014), which had won awards at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the Tokyo AsiaGraph, TBS Digicon 6+ and the Ifva (Hong Kong).
HSIEH Pei-Wen graduated from theTainan National University of the Arts, and teaches in the Department of Digital Multimedia Design at Cheng Shiu University. Her works had been selected for the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and won Best Animation at the Golden Harvest Awards and Jury Prize at the Kaohsiung Film Festival. Hsieh had curated a Taiwanese animation exhibition at the Centre Georges Pompidou and worked on the 5th 39 Hours of Tainan Film Contestival. Moreover, she was in charge of the Thirteen International Animation Festival for five consecutive years.
LIU Wan-Lin is an independent Taiwanese animation director and graduated from the Tainan National University of the Arts. The Tumor, her first animation , was selected for the South Taiwan Film Festival. Welcome was screened at the 6th International Student Film and Video Festival of Beijing Film Academy. The Woman with Pearls won the Student Award at the 2007 Taiwan International Animation Festival, Best Animation at the Global Chinese Universities Student Film and Television Festival and the ASIAGRAPH 2008. Additionally, it was nominated at the Animex Student Animation Awards (UK) and selected for the Animatu Festival (Portugal). Her animation short, The Island , was nominated at the 2014 Taipei Film Awards.

Student Short Films Competition
Graduated from the Tainan National University of the Arts, YANG Yung-Shiuan is specialized in multimedia animation, which combines film, photographs and hand-drawn pictures. Her works, Cajon! (2010) and Message (2013) were selected for several film festivals in Taiwan. Stories about Him won Best Animation at the 2017 Taipei Film Awards, Best Taiwanese Short Film and Audience Choice Award at the 2017 Taichung International Animation Festival and Best Animation at the 2017 Golden Harvest Awards.
Amos HSIAO is an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Informatics and Multimedia at Chia Nan University of Pharmacy & Science and the co-founder of Doyopins Studio. Graduated from the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Hsiao’s The Big Head Boy won awards at the Global Awards of Creative Tube, the China Changzhou International Animation Art Festival, the Golden Harvest Awards and the K. T. Creative Awards and was selected for the Seoul International Comics and Animation Festival, Asian Youth Animation&Comics Contest, the Taipei Film Festival and the Formose Cinema - Rencontre du film Taiwanais. In addition to DNA3FeastParty and Taiwan Contemporary Animation Comic Original Forum, Hsiao founded Austronesian-Formosa, carrying out the research on the stories and the pre-production of the animation Prince of Ocean.
Graduated from National Taiwan University of Arts, LIAO Wei-Chih is the founder of Movect Studios, and currently teaches in the Department of Digital Media Design at Ling Tung University. Liao had served as animation director on Silent Code and the 3D Taiwanese glove puppetry movie The Arti: the Adventure Begins, as producer and director on the 3D computer animation series The Fubon Hero Legend and as director of special effects on the TV drama Between. Moreover, he was in charge of the image synthesis in the TV drama, A Touch of Green.
