Short Film Projects Pitching Workshop
｜Jury and Keynote Speakers｜
Sanvy Hsieh is the Managing Director of the Two Tigers Co. Ltd. and had served as a jury member at the 2015 Taichung International Animation Festival. Passionate about manga and animation since she was little, Hsieh decided to give up her job in international trade and moved on to animation production after she graduated from university. Since then, Hsieh has devoted herself to the Taiwanese animation and manga industries for more than two decades. She has served as the Director of Animaiton Development Office at the Gamania Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. since 2007 and collaborated with Cartoon Network on the Taiwanese animation series, HERO 108, pushing Taiwanese animation onto the international stage. Subsequently, she launched the merchandise and established “Mig Said” in the hope of encouraging more Taiwanese animators to show their works internationally.
Graduated from Tainan National University of the Arts and PH.D of Beijing Film Academy. Li-Wei Chiu has produced and designed many animated films and won numerous awards, including the 2011 China International Cartoon & Animation Festival, the 2012 Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival / Special Jury Award, the 2010 & 2012 &2015 Golden Bell Awards / Best Animation Program, Digital Content Product / Best Animation Program, the 41th Golden Horse Award for Best Visual Effects, the 44th Golden Horse Award for Best Short Film, the 2003、2008 Golden Harvest Award for Best Animated Film. Moreover, his image installation arts are exhibited in National Art Museum Of China in Beijing and Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts in New York.
Chih-Yen Yee obtained a master’s degree from the UCLA. After working at the Central Motion Pictures Corporation, he directed his first film, Lonely Hearts Club, in 1995 and the film was invited to many international film festivals. Following his debut, he made his name in Taiwan with Blue Gate Crossing and Dangerous Mind. In 2014, Yee won Best Original Screenplay for Meeting Dr. Sun at the 51st Golden Horse Awards. Moreover, his City of the Lost Things won the Grand Prize at the Golden Horse Film Project Promotion. Still in production, it is the first animated feature about environmental protection.
